About Transkribus

Transkribus is the leading platform for text recognition with historical documents. Created as part of an EU research project, the platform uses AI to “read” handwritten or printed text on a page and create a digital version of it, reducing months of manual transcription work to just a few days.

Transkribus is used by universities, archives, and libraries, as well as solo researchers and amateur historians, to unlock vast collections of historical knowledge and make humanity's written heritage more accessible than ever before.
